Bikala Wagle DRR and Simulation Expert, Kathmandu
Bikala Wagle is a seasoned professional working as a DRR and Simulation Expert of ROYM Nepal with over 15 years of experience in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), and safeguarding. She holds a Master’s degree in Rural Development and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) with a specialization in juvenile justice and gender law from Tribhuvan University. Throughout her career, Bikala has led the development of more than 50 local disaster risk management plans and frameworks, integrating GEDSI principles into policies and programs across earthquake-affected and disaster-prone districts. Her work spans technical and senior roles with organizations such as CRS Nepal, CBM, Care Nepal, PAF, and UNDP-backed initiatives, where she has promoted inclusive governance, community-based DRR, and nature-based solutions. She has designed training manuals, facilitated capacity-building workshops, and developed IEC materials to advance safeguarding and inclusion. At ROYM Nepal, she contributes her strategic expertise to strengthen local resilience, support inclusive planning, and empower vulnerable communities through rights-based disaster preparedness and recovery efforts.
